Joss Whedon recently wrapped shooting on his adaptation of Shakespeare’s Much Ado about Nothing for his and Kai Cole‘s “micro-studio” Bellwether Pictures. According to Deadline, Bellwether has now moved on to the supernatural romance In Your Eyes. Brin Hill will direct Whedon’s script “about two seemingly polar opposites who are deeply connected in ways neither could have ever imagined.” Hill previously directed the basketball drama Ball Don’t Lie and co-wrote the upcoming break-dancing flick Planet B Boy.
Hit the jump for a statement from Whedon on making the metaphysical love story.
Here’s what Whedon had to say about making In Your Eyes:
“When I wrote In Your Eyes, I didn’t have the wherewithal (or the moxie) to make it without an established production house,” Whedon wrote in a statement. “I believe, as I did then, that it’s a pretty timeless romance, and now, with the creation of Bellwether Pictures (and Brin Hill’s elegant, passionate take on the piece) I have the opportunity to prove it. (I also have a 37% increase in moxie.) I love this team and I can’t wait to see them bring In Your Eyes to life.”
Whedon (now with more moxie!) is currently at work on The Avengers, which is set to open on May 4, 2012.
