NBC has cast the lead in their drama/mystery pilot, Midnight Sun. Julia Stiles will play FBI cult specialist, Leah Kafka, as she leads an investigation into the disappearance of Midnight Sun, a cult-like, communal group living in Alaska. Stiles is joined by Emma Bell (Frozen) who plays Rory, the daughter of the cult's leader (played by Titus Welliver of Lost). Daniella Pineda (Newlyweds) is also on board. From Deadline, the pilot, written by Lisa Zwerling (Awake), is the first series for Stiles, who has previously done a season-long guest starring arc on Showtime's Dexter.

Per Deadline, O'Loughlin,

who plays Steve McGarrett, is currently on a rehab break that will put him on the sidelines for at least one episode to "receive supervised treatment for prescription pain medication due to a recent shoulder injury," according to a rep. CBS studios released the following brief statement:

“We respect and support Alex’s decision. Everyone at CBS Television Studios and Hawaii Five-0 wishes him well and we look forward to his return.”

The series is currently shooting the twentieth of their 23-episode second season. Luckily, the series is ahead of schedule and the leader of Five-0 didn't have many scenes left to shoot as this particular episode focused heavily on Masi Oka's (Heroes) character, Dr. Max Bergman, the quirky forensics expert. Once the episode wraps, the show will take a short break until O'Loughlin can return and finish out the second season.
