After Bryce Dallas Howard entered early talks for the female lead last month, casting continues on director Colin Trevorrow’s highly anticipated sequel Jurassic World.  Deadline reports that 12-year-old Insidious and Iron Man 3 star Ty Simpkins has booked a lead role in the film, confirming that the franchise staple of children being terrorized by dinosaurs will continue in this fourth entry.  Additionally, the report notes that New Girl star Jake Johnson may be in the mix for a role, which would reunite the actor with his Safety Not Guaranteed director.

Plot details are being kept firmly under wraps, but the film was initially scripted by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and boasts rewrites by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly.  Expect plenty more casting news in the coming weeks as production looks to begin early next year in anticipation of the June 12, 2015 release date.
