Warner Bros. took Comic-Con 2016 by storm today be unveiling the very first trailer for the Justice League movie, and boy do these superheroes look fine together. The trailer debut was revealed as part of the film’s surprise Comic-Con 2016 panel, where the footage had the Hall H audience on their feet, and we’ve gone through and screengrabbed the best parts of the trailer so we can all take a closer look at the film that unites Ezra Miller’s Flash, Ray Fisher’s Cyborg, Ben Affleck’s Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, and yes, Henry Cavill’s Superman.
Zack Snyder returns to direct this superhero team-up film, which carries on after the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and finds Batman and Wonder Woman setting out to find the other superheroes discovered on Lex Luthor’s super-secret laptop in order to form a team that can stop a rising evil force. The antagonist of the film is Steppenwolf, who was briefly glimpsed in a deleted scene from Batman v Superman that saw Jesse Eisenberg’s goo-covered Lex communicating with the hulking alien being.
I’m sure fans will have a lot to say about the costumes, specifically Flash, but the footage debut was definitely a concerted effort by WB to calm concerns about Justice League given the dour and joyless tone of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. If one thing’s for certain, it’s that Justice League has a very different vibe (and even look, with Game of Thrones cinematographer Fabian Wagner taking over for Larry Fong), and you can peruse a bevy of images from the trailer at your leisure below.
Justice League opens in theaters on November 17, 2017 and also stars J.K. Simmons, Willem Dafoe, and Amber Heard.
