A new behind-the-scenes image from Justice League director Zack Snyder may not offer up exactly what you've wanted to see (ie another look at the superhero team-up film teased in the trailer way back in July), but it does include some pretty interesting clues buried within it. On the surface, Snyder is clearly having a little fun by dressing up (partially) in Ben Affleck's Batman costume while working on the DCEU films. This is just the latest attempt to show the lighter side of production which has often produced dark and brooding material on-screen.

But if you look a little closer, the playful Snyder has also revealed some other tidbits about the interconnected DCEU. The first is that the scene he's currently working on suggests that a recently revealed villain for the Batman standalone film might just be receiving a cameo in the Justice League movie after all. The second is a curious quote that might have more to do with Snyder's creative side than anything tied into the DC Comics and Warner Bros. pictures, but it's an interesting inclusion nonetheless.

Here's a look at the full picture from Snyder. As you can see, he's having a bit of fun while also staying hard at work. Who says you can't wear Batman's armored gauntlet while working on the movie?

Nestled within this somewhat sizable behind-the-scenes shot from Snyder is a look at his digital workspace. Zoom in just a bit and you can see that Snyder is putting some finishing touches on a Deathstroke scene. How can you tell? Well, not from the highly detailed rendering of Joe Manganiello egg-headed stand-ins, but rather the signature eyepatch. Unless Marvel's Nick Fury has happened to cross over into Justice League territory, that there is Slade WIlson. And while we don't know just what the scene entails, the fact that Snyder tagged it with #JusticeLeague means that we'll probably be getting an introduction to the comic book villain who will be squaring off against Affleck in the standalone Batman movie by way of a cameo in the Justice League film.

In another bit of photographic evidence that likely lends more insight into Snyder's mind and creative influences than anything directly related to the DCEU is this half-buried quote on his cluttered desk, one attributed to Charles Bukowski. Take a look at the image below to get a decent look at it:

Bukowski, the late poet, novelist, short story writer, and columnist who remains popular more than 20 years after his death, was once called the "laureate of American lowlife" by Time magazine. Here's the full quote:

“My dear, Find what you love and let it kill you. Let it drain you of your all. Let it cling onto your back and weigh you down into eventual nothingness. Let it kill you and let it devour your remains. For all things will kill you, both slowly and fastly, but it’s much better to be killed by a lover. ~ Falsely yours” - Charles Bukowski

The next time we get a chance to talk to Snyder, we'll definitely ask him about this quote, and the peculiar bit of artwork it's been written on. It might not clue you into anything going on in Justice League or Batman, but it might help to understand Snyder's creative vision, if in fact it's dear to him at all and not just something that's been accumulated with all the stuff on his desktop work space.
