For those who don’t know, David Fincher got his start directing commercials and music videos such as Madonna‘s “Vogue” and Nine Inch Nails‘ “Only” just to name a few.  Justin Timberlake hasn’t recorded an album since 2006′s FutureSex/LoveSounds, but now he’s returned to music with The 20/20 Experience, which will be released on March 19th.  The first single off the album is “Suit & Tie” featuring Jay-Z, and Fincher has directed the music video, which you can now watch online.  It’s a good song, and Fincher has brought some great visuals that really helps the music pop.

Hit the jump to check out the music video.

It must really suck to be the rest of N’Sync!

…yes being rich must suck. I am sure they are perfectly happy for Justin, and enjoying the royalty chqs they get each month. Each has moved on (except for Lance.. seems that dude wants a reunion more then anything).

What can I say other then AWESOME!

Its a good song?! Is that a joke Matt?

From one Stefan to another – LOL.

I lost interest before Jay Z turned up. And I love Fincher. It had some OK visuals but it was just quite boring really.

Gorgeous video – great lighting, great photography. Love the black and white. Fincher’s got a lot of style. Too bad he couldn’t make the music better. The song’s unbelievably monotonous, and the only place where it got interesting was where Jay-Z did his thing in the middle, and I hate rap, as a general rule. Timberlake should stick to acting, IMO, ’cause he’s pretty good at that…

Wow. Every time I typed an apostrophe, the blog put in a slash. Weird.

I’m trying to find out who was the cinematographer and what they shot this on? Anyone know?

Looks like the RED EPIC Black and White camera. I heard Fincher had started using it. Now we know on what.

      Matthew Libatique.

Given just how great a director Fincher is, the above comment is particularly pertinent ‘ who was the cinematographer and what they shot this on?’

I think it’s fair to say any number of directors/ DOP could have shot this retro Vegas/ Rat Pack promo in B&W. Pretty yes. Original no.

As they say en France ‘ fatigue’.

Not to be too picky but when you say Fincher “got his start” with “music videos such as Madonna‘s ‘Vogue’ and Nine Inch Nails‘ ‘Only’ ” it insinuates that the latter was also one of her early works. That video was from 2005. Perhaps a call back to his Aerosmith or Billy Idol videos would have been more appropriate.

yeah, i kinda thought the same thing. Figured he singled those two out for being the two most well known videos he’s done. Even though he’d directed videos for George Michael, Sting, and Paula Abdul.
