Reports have Kate Beckinsale (Total Recall) in negotiations to star in Eliza Graves for Millenium and Nu Image.  The psychological thriller is based off of an early story from the career of Edgar Allan Poe, the 1945 short titled The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether.  When last we reported on Eliza Graves, the film had Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity) attached to direct.  It looks like things have changed as the film now has Brad Anderson (Session 9) in the director's chair.  Hit the jump for more.

According to Heat Vision, Beckinsale is in talks to star in the lead of Eliza Graves as the title character, "a Harvard Medical School grad who takes a job at an insane asylum, falling for one of the doctors but then discovering that the occupants have taken it over."  Production is slated to start on June 21st in Bulgaria.

Breaking out as the star of the Underworld movie series, Beckinsale most recently starred in the Total Recall remake opposite Colin Farrell.  Her next appearance will be in writer/director Karen Moncrieff's drama The Trials of Cate McCall, in which she stars in the title role of a disbarred lawyer attempting to regain her career and the custody of her daughter by taking on the case of a woman wrongfully convicted of murder.

Anderson, meanwhile, has his latest feature effort, The Call opening in theaters this weekend.  Starring Halle Berry and Abigail BreslinThe Call centers on a 911 operator (Berry) who receives a call from a kidnapped girl and must confront a killer from her past in order to save the girl's life.
