We previously reported that mega pop star Katy Perry would be doing a 3D feature film that was equal parts concert footage and documentary. Now the first trailer has dropped for the movie, titled Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D. It's as colorful and as emotive as fans of the superstar and her music would expect it to be, but it also highlights Perry's work ethic and personal struggles, which I found to be a rather mature and enticing angle. Then she shot whipped cream out of her boobs.  But it can't be all sugar and no substance since Hustle & Flow director Craig Brewer has recently signed on as an executive producer. Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D opens in theaters on July 5th. Hit the jump to check out the trailer and find out how you can be a part of the movie itself. Having just received a release date for her concert tour movie, Perry had the following to say in a recent press release:

"I am so excited to paint the silver screen in 3D color with help from our friends at Paramount and Imagine. For the last year and a half, I have intimately documented my life both on and off the stage of The California Dreams Tour. I want to take you behind the cotton candy clouds and reveal the highs and lows and nuts of bolts of this extraordinary ride. I promise you, after seeing this film, you will truly know me."

If fans would like to get more involved with the film, there are three ways to go about it:

  1. Submit A Video Of You Singing Along to "Firework"
  2. Submit A Video Of How Katy Inspires You
  3. Upload A Photo Of You From One Of Katy's Concerts
Then, submit your media at the official website here. Good luck!
