Kevin Kline has signed on to star in an untitled series for HBO, about a cardiac surgeon who is sentenced to 15 years in prison for murdering his mistress, and has to fix his life after he is released. According to Variety, the pilot will be written by Proof‘s David Auburn, who will executive produce with Kline, Judy Hofflund and Gavin Polone. The show will be Kevin Kline’s first TV series. He was recently nominated for an Emmy for his work on Great Performances. HBO has several other new series with name actors set to premiere, including Treme, Boardwalk Empire, and Game of Thrones, and shooting on David Milch’s Luck is set to begin soon.
