A new trailer for director Andrew Dominik’s crime drama Killing Them Soflty has been released. The film stars Brad Pitt as a mob enforcer called in to investigate the robbery of a high-stakes card game. The film’s first trailer was pretty great, but this clip ups my anticipation level even more. We see a bit more of the plot and character interactions, and there’s a scene set in the rain that shows off some fantastic visuals. Dominik displayed tremendous talent with The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford, and I’m highly encouraged by what we’ve seen of his second go-around with Pitt thus far.
Hit the jump to watch the new trailer. The film also stars Richard Jenkins, James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta, Scoot McNairy, and Ben Mendelsohn. Killing Them Softly opens November 30th.

This came out in Australia a little while ago now. It really is fantastic. I urge everyone to go see it.
As above it came out down here back in October. It is a most excellent flick, as good as the trailers suggested it would be. Pitt, Gandalfini & Jenkins are total magic onscreen.
I kind of disagree. I enjoyed it but I wouldn’t class it as excellent. Scoot McNairy was my favourite thing about it. Good performances all in all from Pitt, Gandolfini, Liotta and Jenkins but I didn’t thinkit was anything special.
Came out in NZ around the same time it did in Australia. I have to agree with the first two posters, I loved it! It’s ‘different’ in a good way — I went in knowing very little about the film (hadn’t even watched any of its trailers) and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s one of those movies that probably won’t appeal to a lot of people (the person I went to watch it with didn’t enjoy it), but I highly recommend giving it a look. Great performances and lots of gratuitous violence (if you’re into that sort if thing)!
