Boys Don’t Cry director Kimberly Peirce is looking to tackle a remake of the 2000 French film With a Friend Like HarryVariety reports that Peirce is attached to direct the pic, which centers on a family man who is joined on vacation by an old schoolmate named Harry who he doesn’t know.  Initially, “Harry seems to be just what the family needs with his carefree spirit and charm but his efforts and advice eventually become more mysteriously menacing.”

Interestingly, Prison Break actor Wentworth Miller is adapting the screenplay.  He previously wrote the script for the horror drama Stoker, which is set for release next March.  Nicole Kidman stars in that pic, which was directed by Oldboy’s Park Chan-wook.  Peirce is currently in the midst of helming the promising Carrie remake with Chloe Moretz and Julianne Moore.  No word on how soon Harry could begin production, but the Talented Mr. Ripley vibe seems an exciting fit for Peirce.  Hit the jump to watch the trailer for the original French film.
