Estelle Harris and Kristen Schaal Video Interview TOY STORY 3 slice

This past weekend, I went to Pixar Animation Studios for the Toy Story 3 press day (it is so cool to be able to write that and have it be true).  It’s one of the most highly-anticipated films of the year and I think a lot of people are going to enjoy themselves when they see it.

I had the opportunity to sit down and talk with stars Kristen Schaal and Estelle Harris.  Schaal plays “Trixie”, a triceratops that’s one of the new toys in the film.  Harris returns as Mrs. Potato Head, who has a much larger role in Toy Story 3 than she did in the previous movie.  Schaal is perhaps best known for her role as the lovable-stalker “Mel” on HBO’s Flight of the Conchords.  As for Harris, she’s done a wide variety of movies and television, but her most famous role is Estelle Costanza on Seinfeld.  Hit the jump to check out the interview and check back tomorrow as I’ll be posting my final Toy Story 3 interview.  You can click here for my interview with director Lee Unkrich and producer Darla K. Anderson, and click here for my interview with Joan Cusack and Timothy Dalton.  Toy Story 3 hits theaters this Friday.

Kristen Schaal and Estelle Harris

  • What’s it like for Harris knowing that she’s forever left her imprint on the Mrs. Potato Head toy?
  • 1:46 – Is Schaal planning to appear at any more Flight of the Conchords live shows; is she planning on doing another Daily Show segment in the near future?
  • 2:43 – Harris’ thoughts on the Seinfeld quasi-reunion on Curb Your Enthusiasm last season
  • 3:32 – What’s the Pixar experience been like for Schaal, who’s new to the series, and Harris, who’s making her second appearance
  • 4:08 – Did seeing the completed Mrs. Potato Head in Toy Story 2 help inform Harris performance in this movie
