FilmDistrict has released the first trailer for Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey. The drama centers on a Muslim woman (Zana Marjanović) and a Serbian soldier (Goran Kostic) who fall in love days before Bosnian war. If I didn’t tell you that Jolie was the movie’s writer-director, you would still want to see the movie based on the trailer. That’s not to say that Jolie is a distraction, but plenty of actors step behind the camera or try to write screenplay, but not all of them are successful. Jolie looks like she’s nailed not only a serious war movie, but also a tender, heartbreaking love-story. The trailer has certainly put the film on my radar.

Looks great!
Totally…
I wish that Angelina Jolie would make a movie in Armenia. Hollywood never does films there.
FYI: “Here” by Braden King and with Ben Foster and Lubna Azabal is set in Armenia
She is a great woman.
First time on this site – is this some kind of fanboy page here!? There is absolutely nothing interesting or special about that trailer that may prompt one to watch the movie – unless of course one is a Jolie fan. Why all that praise for this trailer! The movie, judging by the trailer, looks melodramatic and very run of the mill, ordinary. Of course the struggles, the pain, the true stories- no one can deny those – but this movie doesn’t seem to have captured any of that and the trailer definitely does not make me want to see the movie!
Yeah right to each his/her own opinion .. YOU might not like it but Angie’s fan worldwide will be watching this movie!!
I suggest you don’t look around the web too much on this one because the trailer is getting overwhelmingly positive reviews from ALL the film sites.
This is going to be a rough couple of months for some of the Jolie haters.

Did Angelina Jolie use (steal) this book (The Soul Shattering in English) written by the Bosnian-Croatian author James J. Braddock a.k.a Josip J. Knežević, as the story platform for her movie In The Land of Blood and Honey?
Did she totally miss the truth and core of that genocidal war against Bosnia and her people?
Why was she banned from filming in Bosnia by the most influental organization of women – victims of the war?
Did she rewrite history and offended thousands of women and other innocent victims of the Serbian aggression on Bosnia & Herzegovina?
Should American women and human rights organizations get involved?
