It really helps to watch this with someone who can translate.
Me: “What does he mean he has a ‘rod on like Nelson’s Column’ “? I get the first part – he was looking at the pictures of the prossies.”
Mom: “Nelson’s column is a monument in Trafalgar Square.” And then commence disccusion re: Napoleonic Wars, London geography, etc.

That’s the difference between the UK and the US. You need help understanding our culture, infact the culture of almost anyone outside of the US.
A lot of people in the UK, well almost anyone in Europe; would instantly understand most American references.

I love this show and quite frankly I can’t get enough of it. One day while at work, I started flipping channels and of course it was a Friday and I happened onto this channel and I am so happy I did. I work at DISH Network and decided to check out the HD, which by the way is flawless, and I saw an episode that seemed so natural to me. I haven’t looked back since and I highly recommend that people watch this show at least once but make sure it’s in HD!
