A new trailer for director John Hillcoat’s crime drama Lawless has gone online.  Based on the novel The Wettest County in the World, the film stars Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy as two brothers who become bootleggers in the South during Prohibition.  This trailer isn’t as enthralling as the film’s first trailer, but it’s still pretty damn good.  We get a bit more into the plot and see some interactions between LaBeouf and Mia Wasikowska, but Guy Pearce again steals the show.  The film landed on our most anticipated list for the third quarter of 2012, and I’m eager to see how the full story plays out.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer.  The film also stars Jason Clarke, Jessica Chastain, Gary Oldman, and Dane DeHaanLawless opens on August 31st.

Here’s the synopsis for Lawless:

LAWLESS is the true story of the infamous Bondurant Brothers: bootlegging siblings who made a run for the American Dream in Prohibition-era Virginia. In this epic gangster tale, inspired by true-life tales of author Matt Bondurant’s family in his novel “The Wettest County in the World”, the loyalty of three brothers is put to the test against the backdrop of the nation’s most notorious crime wave.

Even though this trailer has nothing new, it has my money. Gary Oldman and Guy Pierce alone make me want to see this. Tom Hardy is great. I don’t think he is going to get pushed in this movie like he did in Bronson but I’m sure he will be good. Shia might surprise a few people. I actually like him a lot as an actor id just like to see him challanged, Even Stevens is the shit.

In what way was he pushed in Bronson? That movie is incredible, who needs pushing for that role?

Looking forward to it, I like Tom’s accent better in this one for some reason.
