When a new Left Behind adaptation was announced, it sounded odd considering that the original film adaptation mainly appealed to a Christian audience, which makes sense since they deal with the Rapture.  Once Nicolas Cage signed on, it sounded like his direct-to-VOD that doesn't really challenge the talented actor.  Then the first trailer was okay, but looked more like a Lifetime Original than a real movie (it wasn't helped by the badly photoshopped poster).  But now a new Left Behind trailer has gone online, and the film looks legit.  In fact, it kind of reminds me of The Leftovers except there are emotions other than grief.  Or the movie could turn out to be This Is the End without the intentional comedy.  Either way, I'm intrigued.

Hit the jump to check out the new Left Behind trailer.  The film opens October 3rd, and also stars Chad Michael Murray, Lea Thompson, Jordin Sparks, Cassi Thompson, Nicky Whelan, Quinton Aaron, and Martin Klebba.
