Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda has been delighting video game players for generations on a variety of different screens, but it's a safe bet that this is the first time Link and his pals have appeared on CBS' The Late Show. If Stephen Colbert wasn't the most nerd-friendly talk show host coming into last night's show, then inviting a 74-piece symphony orchestra to the Ed Sullivan Theater in order to play a medley of live Zelda music certainly helped his case.

The performance by The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses was in celebration (and in the name of product placement) of Nintendo's release of The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes game for the Nintendo 3DS system on October 23rd. The Late Show house band "Jon Batiste and Stay Human" got in on the action and played a bit of the theme song backstage before the big performance. Rejoice, nerds! This is the music that awaits you in heaven. "The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes" for the Nintendo 3DS System is available October 23rd. The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses is currently on a World Tour.
