It’s no wonder Warner Bros. is enacting such an ambitious plan for the Lego movies.  The first film dropped back in February, held the #1 spot at the box office for three weeks and went on to accumulate $468.1 million globally, which is huge considering the film cost just $60 million to make.

It was recently reported that McKay would direct The Lego Movie 2, but now that he’s firmly attached to The Lego Batman Movie, that seems unlikely.  Hopefully that leaves the door open for Lord and Miller to return although the guys do have a lot on their plate right now.  It’s also no surprise that The Lego Movie 2 is being bumped from its May 26, 2017 release date now that things are moving forward on Lego Batman.  The press release doesn’t mention precise dates, but it seems as though Lego Batman could take that May 26, 2017 slot.

And the same goes for Ninjago as well.  The press release doesn’t pinpoint an exact date, but a while back, it was reported that it’d hit theaters on September 23, 2016 and there’s no reason to think otherwise.
