Some new set photos from The Great Gatsby have surfaced, giving us a great look at the three leads in costume. Leonardo DiCaprio looks positively dapper as Jay Gatsby, Carey Mulligan is lovely as Daisy, and Tobey Maguire looks like….well, Tobey Maguire. The images are pretty fantastic, and if you weren’t won over by the casting decisions alone, these costume pics should entice you. We got glances of Maguire before (as well as Joel Edgerton and Isla Fisher), but this is our first look at DiCaprio and Mulligan. I’m anxiously looking forward to the adaptation not only because it’s The Great Gatsby, but also because I’m highly intrigued as to what director Baz Luhrmann has in store for his 3D iteration.

Here’s a synopsis for F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby:
“The Great Gatsby” follows Fitzgerald-like, would-be writer Nick Carraway as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz and bootleg kings. Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby, and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy, and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan. It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves and deceits. As Nick bears witness, within and without the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles.

DiCaprio wants so bad to have both hands in his pockets, but he has to hold the cane…
I wish Leonardo DiCaprio would do more movies. At present, he has 25 projects in various stages of development but he only does one movie a year and he has nothing solid lined up after ‘Django Unchained’.
That last picture of MacGuire is kind of terrifying.

This is how I picture DiCaprio in ‘Django Unchained’.
DiCaprio looks ridiculous, and nothing like Gatsby should look. His clothing is joke. The chick looks like a 12 year old, nothing like Daisy. Maguire looks like a complete fool. Is he Nick or Nick’s gay twin? What a massive train wreck this looks to be! Are they serious?

The problem with casting Dicaprio is that during the whole movie, I will feel like I’m looking at Leonardo, not Gatsby. He’s didn’t really transform based on these pics.
Speakiing of that one QT shouldnt le him ‘prance around’/cary the weight much like Raimi in the awful The Quick and the Dead

I like the hair better on this Daisy than the hair on Mia Farrow in the former movie…looks more 1920′s.
