Mel Gibson has gone far beyond the point of “Box Office Poison”. After his recent racist rants comprised of the purest hate a soul can summon, Gibson is now “Box Office Swimming in Disease-Infested Waters with Open Sores.” (Imagery!) Back in December, we reported that Leonardo DiCaprio had signed on to star in an untitled Viking movie directed by Gibson. Radar Online reports that is no longer the case. “‘Not a chance,’ said a source, close to the Inception star, when asked if he was still planning to star in Gibson’s next project.”
It’s not like DiCaprio is now in career limbo after this decision. He has plenty of other films he could do including The Wolf of Wall Street directed by Ridley Scott, a biopic of J. Edgar Hoover for Clint Eastwood, and Travis McGee with Oliver Stone at the helm.

Hahaha! I was thinking about this movie a couple of days ago… Too bad, Hollywood lacks in the epic/awesome viking movie department.
Interesting how DiCaprio bails on one racist (Gibson) for another (Oliver Stone). Did anybody listen to Stone at all recently? Why does that guy get a break from the media? That guy blatantly defends Hitler saying he was misunderstood.

Thank you for pointing this out. DiCaprio and the rest of the Hollywood elites are conspicuously quiet on Stone's recent comments; which were by and large some of the most racially charged anti-semitic comments made in a long time. Things that make you go hmmm.

Stone did NOT defend Hitler. He talked about how WWI lead to the rise of Hitler, as well as how forces in industry contributed to Nazism. Stone called Hitler a monster and a psychopath. Read his full comments in context and not whatever twist web tabloids like Collider/TMZ/Perez Hilton are giving them. Stone also happens to be half Jewish himselelf. As for his comments about the pro-Israeli lobby being powerful, they are accurate, if politically incorrect.
I really want this movie to happen with Di Caprio. I think both are great at what they do and I hope Di Caprio rethinks collaborating with each other. Anyway can we quit on destroying Mel Gibson already? Why is Hollywood and the media so obsess in putting this guy down?
