Universal has released four new featurettes for Les Miserables.  The featurettes focus on the costumes, the hair and make-up, the production design, and the original song “Suddenly”.  These four featurettes will give you a valuable insight into why the film will get Oscar nominations for the costumes, the hair and make-up, the production design, and the original song “Suddenly”.  Watching these featurettes, I learned that if the movie wins the Oscars for costumes, hair and make-up, and production design, it will be on the backs of prostitutes.  Everyone in these featurettes raves about designing the “Lovely Ladies” number, as well they should.

Hit the jump to check out the featurettes.  The film stars Hugh JackmanAnne HathawayRussell CroweAmanda SeyfriedEddie RedmayneSamantha BarksHelena Bonham Carter, and Sacha Baron Cohen.  Les Miserables opens  December 25th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Les Miserables:

Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Miserables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption–a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.
