With CinemaCon kicking off on Monday, we’ll be bringing you lots of coverage from the event throughout next week including interviews, panel recaps, and more.  Steve is already in Las Vegas for the event, and while walking the floor he came across the very first promo poster for The King’s Speech director Tom Hooper’s big-budget movie musical Les Miserables.  For those unaware, CinemaCon is a convention put on for all the major theater owners in order to get a look at what the studios have to offer for the rest of the year; it’s basically Comic-Con for theater owners.  As such, this is just a very simple promo poster that’s pretty much just advertising the stellar cast and the fact that Les Mis is headed to the big screen this year.

Hit the jump to take a look at the promo poster, which is surely the first of many posters and standees we’ll be bringing you over the next few days.  If you missed it, be sure to check out the recent set photos and videos which feature Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway singing the finale song.  Les Miserables opens on December 14th.

Update: We’ve come across another version of the Les Miserable promo poster and added it after the jump

Here’s the synopsis for Les Miserables:

Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption–a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.

  1. Do you think the intern at a publishing firm realized when he chose that font for the modern reprint of Les Miserables that it would follow the book this far.

  2. Not very interesting rehashing the same old thing. I know its the musical but its a movie version not the stage show. Come on!

  3. Well they left out the girl who plays Eponine (which is a main character)… as well as the guy who plays Enjolras.
nbd just keep with your big movie names
    whatever…

SAMANTHA BARKS & AARON TVEIT ROCK. GOOGLE THEM.

  4. I LOVE IT! I do not want the artwork to stray too far from the original. After 25 years, the logo is one of the most recognized in the world and it needs to have connection with the Movie, just like “Hair”, “Phantom”, and “A chorus Line” used the same logos for both versions, as well as “Annie.”"Rent” and many tohers that were well-known.

  5. They also left out the person playing Marius. But the reason I believe they left those three off is because those 3 are not well known like the rest of them are.The only movie Aaron a had done before Les Miserables was Ghosttown with Ricky Gervais

  6. It’s actually a nice and useful piece of info. I am happy that you just shared this helpful information with us. Please stay us informed like this. Thanks for sharing.
