Ricky Gervais has been busy lately, not only hosting the Golden Globes back in January, but also prepping for the launch of his Netflix movie Special Correspondents. Meanwhile, he's also found time to resurrect an old favorite in his upcoming movie Life on the Road, which will feature his Office character David Brent. This isn't going to be an Office (UK, mind) reunion, but rather, it will focus solely on Brent as he takes a holiday in order to tour with his band, Foregone Conclusion. While he believes he's being filmed for a rock documentary, it's actually a "where are they now" piece (meaning the film will, of course, have the same mockumentary style that made The Office originally so unique).

Sadly, Gervais is not collaborating on the project with his Office and Extras partner Steve Merchant, nor is there an expectation that Karl Pilkington will be showing up in the new movie. However, it looks like Life on the Road will have the same deeply satirical tone as the original TV series, and will also be featuring some of the songs from there as well as new originals. (Never forget that Gervais himself actually had a brief career as a singer/songwriter). Check out the new teaser below:

Life on the Road is set to premiere in the UK August 19th. For now, if you want to reminisce with one of David Brent's famous songs (and clearly one of the greatest music videos ever produced), listen in to "If You Don't Know My By Now":

Here’s the official synopsis of Life on the Road:
