We have two first posters tonight, along with the French poster that shows off a familiar character so badass, I just had to include it:
- Life of Pi - Suraj Sharma stars as Pi in Ang Lee‘s adaptation of the Yann Martel novel.
- Me and My Shadow - DreamWorks Animation will combine 3D CGI and 2D hand-drawn animation for this tale of a timid man (voiced by Josh Gad) and his shadow (Bill Hader).
- Taken 2 - Liam Neeson returns to conquer more kidnappers in the sequel to Taken—only this time he’s the victim.
See the posters after the jump.
Tobey Maguire, Irrfan Khan, Adil Hussain, and Gerard Depardieu co-star in Life of Pi, due in theaters November 21. Here’s the book synopsis:
The son of a zookeeper, Pi Patel has an encyclopedic knowledge of animal behavior and a fervent love of stories. When Pi is sixteen, his family emigrates from India to North America aboard a Japanese cargo ship, along with their zoo animals bound for new homes.
The ship sinks. Pi finds himself alone in a lifeboat, his only companions a hyena, an orangutan, a wounded zebra, and Richard Parker, a 450-pound Bengal tiger. Soon the tiger has dispatched all but Pi, whose fear, knowledge, and cunning allow him to coexist with Richard Parker for 227 days while lost at sea. When they finally reach the coast of Mexico, Richard Parker flees to the jungle, never to be seen again. The Japanese authorities who interrogate Pi refuse to believe his story and press him to tell them “the truth.” After hours of coercion, Pi tells a second story, a story much less fantastical, much more conventional–but is it more true? Alessandro Carloni (the head of story on How to Train Your Dragon) will make his directorial debut on Me and My Shadow, scheduled for release on November 13, 2013.
Me and My Shadow tells the story of Shadow Stan, an extremely frustrated shadow who yearns for a dynamic life but happens to be stuck with Stanley Grubb, the world’s most boring human. Finally pushed to the brink, Shadow Stan breaks the singular rule of the Shadow World – “They lead, we follow” – and takes control of Stanley!
Via IMP Awards:
Famke Janssen, Maggie Grace, and Rade Serbedzija star opposite Neeson in Taken 2. Olivier Megaton (Colombiana) directed the October 5 release.
Liam Neeson returns as Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent with a particular set of skills who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from Albanian kidnappers. When the father of one of the kidnappers swears revenge, and takes Bryan and his wife hostage during their family vacation in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help them escape, and uses the same advanced level of special forces tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers one by one.
