The first trailer for the indie romantic drama Like Crazy has been released. The film premiered at Sundance earlier this year and stars Anton Yelchin, Felicity Jones and Jennifer Lawrence. If you’re expecting a romantic comedy, then you’re in for a bit of a shock. The trailer is an uber-downer, and kind of crushing. It doesn’t give much away in terms of story, but it’s safe to say it won’t be anywhere near a “feel good movie of the year” list. Matt wasn’t a huge fan of the movie when he caught it at Sundance, but Steve liked it more. I like the actors involved and I’m intrigued enough by the trailer, I just may need to immediately follow the film up with a Disney movie of some sort to prevent a lapse into depression.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer. Like Crazy also stars Charlie Bewley and Alex Kingston. The film opens October 28th.
[Update: We've updated the article with a higher sound quality version of the trailer as well as the poster]
Here’s the official synopsis:
A young American guy and a young British girl meet in college and fall in love. Their love is tested when she is required to leave the country and they must face the challenges of a long-distance relationship.

“Matt didn’t like the film”, what a surprise. He probably said the same thing about (500) Days of Summer.
I only gonna see it because i’m a huge fan of anton yelchin.
been dying to see this film cause i’m a huge jennifer lawrence fan haha, does anybody know if this is coming out on DVD?
Anton is making a lot of movie, good for him!!! He is really a talent actor.
Relationships are so easy, fun and simple I never miss a chance for a serious realistic romance. *sarcasm*
I ploughed through Matt’s review. But I couldn’t get back the second sentence: “Like Crazy works, but only in a manipulative fashion that preys on the viewer’s nostalgia of young love.”
I’m sorry, but that is the shallowest form of criticism. Of course, the film is “manipulative.” All films are “manipulative”: they are created and honed to create an affect on their audience. The question should not be whether or not that the film is manipulative: it is the degree to which that manipulation is effective.
which soundtrack is used in the trailer of this movie??
