Ben Affleck’s LIVE BY NIGHT Set for December 25, 2015 Release; Clint Eastwood’s JERSEY BOYS Opens June 20, 2014

Warner Bros. has announced release dates for a pair of the studio’s more prestigious upcoming projects.  First up, Ben Affleck’s directorial follow-up to last year’s Argo will get a prime holiday release, as Live By Night has been officially dated for December 25, 2015 (now the busiest year in film history).  The crime drama is an adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s novel of the same name, which takes place in Boston during the 1920’s.  Affleck was originally planning on going into production this year, but he subsequently signed on to star in David Fincher’s Gone Girl and agreed to don the cowl for Batman vs. SupermanLive by Night will now start production later next year after Affleck wraps his Batman role, making the Christmas 2015 release date a rather quick turnaround.  And yes, Batman vs. Superman also opens in 2015.

Additionally, Clint Eastwood’s adaptation of the Broadway musical Jersey Boys will arrive in theaters on June 20, 2014, where it will open opposite the comedy sequel Think Like a Man Too.  Aside from Christopher Walken, the cast of Eastwood’s film is mostly made up of stage actors.
