Design for the Lizard in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Seen on Pez Dispenser

Sony has gone to great lengths to keep the design for the Lizard, the villain in The Amazing Spider-Man, under wraps.  So far, the studio has been very successful.  However, the effort has been undermined very slightly by a marketing tie-in with Pez.  The candy company made a dispenser in the likeness of Spidey, naturally, but you’ve seen him before.  What’s more interesting is the Pez dispenser fashioned after the Lizard (played by Rhys Ifans in the movie).  The plastic cannot recreate the complexity of the eventual makeup and/or CG effects, but it gives you enough of an idea that we will save the image for after the jump, in case you prefer to wait for a more official reveal.

Andrew Garfield stars as Peter Parker/Spider-Man alongside Ifans, Emma Stone, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, and Denis Leary.  Directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing Spider-Man opens on July 3, 2012.  Hit the jump for the image.

He looks like green Voldemort, haha.

    • Jessica

LOL. Yes, I thought the same thing as well.

  • J.P.

This is odd. He didn’t look AT ALL like this in the Comic-Con footage.

  • 198d

Kind of reminds me of that show from the 90′s, Dinosaurs. I know it’s just a PEZ design, and this might be completely inaccurate. But THIS, I do not really like.

  • drew

looks more like scorpion lizard, besides the teeth

  • Eric Nixon

LAME. Based on this PEZ Dispenser prototype, this movie will be an epic fail.

    • nNark

And your remark is so boringly typical of fanboys who throw comments all over the Internet, and is a prize example of why your kind suck so completely.

      • Jazzy Jace

I agree, Eric Nixon is a fairy douchebag fanboy!

    • Devin

nNark and Jazzy Jace have never heard of Sarcasm on the Internet, apparently.

      • Virgil Cole

I was thinking exactly the same thing.

It’s obvious sarcasm, evidently only noticeable to people that aren’t always ready to spew insults at the first sign of something they don’t understand.

Get a sense of humor ladies.

I like your style, troll. Hahaa

  • Ccraw

    Track of the Moon Beast?!?!

  • Keesomo

To be quite honest…he looks more like Killer Croc and less like the Lizard.

  • Joeyyoyo

So is the Lizard going to be wearing a yellow tank top in the movie? Or have a giant ugly yellow chest..

  • whatever

Here is a question, did Rhys Ifans ever get around to apologizing for showing up bombed to that last comic con and spouting off about what a sh!tty country the US is? The guy is a fine actor, blah blah blah, but he isn’t good enough that this should pass. Particularly nauseating coming from a Brit who is earning a nice paycheck stateside.

  • drewski

looks like the lizard has got breasts.

  • Virgil Cole

They should have turned it sideways so the length of his “snout” could be seen.

Looking at it straight on makes him look like Croc.

  • Tarek

Does the Lizard wear a bib ?

  • jas

His face looks like the face of someone who has a face that is a cross between the faces of a crocodile and an alligator and a man and a zombie and a gorilla and a caiman and a walrus and a manatee and a caveman and a piranha and a dude with a really big head on a small body who doesn’t know that yellow clashes with green.

That’s why the face looks so good – all those divergent facial influences can’t help but create a face that looks like a face that’s all monstery and stuff.

  • Edward Lee

Looks like the aliens from V.

  • Mattheos

I’m just upset with PEZ. They keep putting out dispensers of busts and they look ridiculous. Keep them with JUST HEADS. Come on PEZ!

We all know the movie will be fine (and that’s just about it).

  • Yahzee

Lame, even for a toy based on sure-to-fail-movie. Still waiting for an official pic.

    • O.R.

This is either very thicky disguised sarcasm or I just read one of the most contradicting and self-loathing comments I’ve ever read on the internet.

I am not interested in seeing a freaking Spiderman remake. Now Emma Stone and Garfield are now boy friend and girlfriend. What a joke.

    • Tarek

everything is a joke is that movie. the costumes, Andrew Garfield and his Dragon Ball z hair cut, the lizard with a bib
