Next year, both Power Rangers and Wolverine will get grittier treatments: the mighty morphin’ teenagers with attitude are giving off Chronicle vibes, while Hugh Jackman’s Logan got an R rating from Fox. Both films offer new looks at their more serious tones with images of Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks) and the adamantium-laced mutant himself.

As part of a Twitter takeover from the character, Lionsgate released two new shots of Rita — one being another portrait shot and the other a full-length, front-facing look complete with staff. The original Rita in the Power Rangers TV series from the 1990s was far more outrageous and kooky, both with her personality and costumes. Banks is no stranger to that type of character, but we’ve seen very little of her beyond her “I’ve killed Rangers before” line in the trailer.

We do know her henchman Goldar will pop up, too, and there’s been talks of her Putty Patrollers. So perhaps there’s more lightheartedness than what we’ve seen so far.

Over in the land of X-Men, the official Weapon X Twitter account for Logan continues to release black-and-white images from the film. The latest one is of a pensive Wolverine hunched over the side of a bed. His black suit is the same from a scene in the trailer showing him drinking by a tree while someone is buried in a cemetery. There aren’t any solid leads as to whose funeral that was, unless Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) ends up fulfilling a similar role to ghost Jean Grey in The Wolverine.
