After director James Mangold revealed the first photo of Hugh Jackman’s last run as Wolverine, the actor himself announced the first Logan trailer will arrive tomorrow. As a little taste, Jackman posted a minute snippet of footage to Instagram, but what’s intriguing is that, much like all the promotional photos and first look images released thus far, the teaser is in black and white. Might that also extend to the film itself?

When confirming the R rating and a Western vibe for Logan, X-Men movie producer Simon Kinberg said of the third Wolverine film: “It’s just a very cool, different film.” A black-and-white color palette is certainly “different” for the superhero genre, which typically embraces the vibrant hues of the comics on which they’re based. Mangold breathed new life into the Wolverine character, so there’s faith that this could be something special.

In the Logan trailer teaser, we hear Wolverine saying, “Nature made me a freak, man made me a weapon, and God made it last too long.” Watch the footage below:

This is the latest reveal from Mangold and Jackman, who’ve been dropping images left and right over social media. We’ve seen Patrick Stewart reprising his role of Professor Charles Xavier (although this one is much, much older), Boyd Holbrook as the villain Pierce (likely meaning Donald Pierce), one of the villainous Reavers, Stephen Merchant as the albino mutant Caliban (which Jackman recently confirmed), and a ton of images from the set.

Jackman previously teased the Old Man Logan story line would serve as inspiration for Logan, and now it seems it’s all but confirmed. The only thing we’re waiting on now is confirmation of mutant X-23. Maybe she’ll claw her way into the trailer tomorrow.

Logan is scheduled for release on March 3, 2017.
