LONDON HAS FALLEN to Open October 2nd, 2015; Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart Return

Focus Features will distribute LONDON HAS FALLEN in the US on October 2, 2015, featuring the return of Gerard Butler in the follow-up to OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN.

Gerard Butler is set to save the world again, this time while based in a foreign country. After saving the President of the U.S.A. (Aaron Eckhart) in Olympus Has Fallen, the sequel London Has Fallen will reunite Butler's Mike Banning with Eckhart's head of state, Benjamin Asher. The newly revealed synopsis sees the Americans and other foreign dignitaries in London to attend the funeral of the British Prime Minister (who apparently doesn't even get the opportunity to survive terrorists). When a new plot to assassinate the world leaders crops up, only Banning, Asher, and an MI-6 agent can put a stop to it.

Sequel of OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN to be Released Wide in the US on October 2, 2015

Los Angeles, May 1, 2014– Focus Features has acquired US distribution rights to LONDON HAS FALLEN, the sequel of the 2013 box office hit OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN. Star Gerard Butler will return for the sequel written by Creighton Rothenberger & Katrin Benedikt and Christian Gudegast. The film is being produced by Gerard Butler, Alan Siegel, Mark Gill, and Matt O'Toole. Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, John Thompson, Christine Crow, and Focus Features CEO Peter Schlessel will executive produce. Focus Features plans to release the film nationwide on October 2, 2015.

OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN was released on March 22, 2013 by FilmDistrict, the U.S. distributor led by Peter Schlessel prior to him being named CEO of Focus Features. The film earned over $98.9 million at the domestic box office.
