Four new images and a set photo from Looper have gone online.  The film, directed by Rian Johnson (Brick), takes place in a world where time travel exists in the future, it's illegal, and it's a great way for criminal organization to dispose of enemies.  Simply shove your unloved one into the time machine, they'll show up in the past, and a hitman in our time, a.k.a. a "looper" will murder the target and dispose of the body, so it doesn't exist in the future.  This is working fine and dandy for one looper (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) until he's faced with killing his future self (Bruce Willis) and his future self escapes.Hit the jump to check out the new images, and click here for our write-up of the movie's Comic-Con panel.  The film also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, Piper Perabo, and Jeff Daniels.  Looper opens September 21st.Via HeyUGuys:

Here's the official synopsis for Looper:

In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.
