Love Death + Robots lands on Netflix March 15th.

The shorts you just got a glimpse of span a host of genres, from science fiction and fantasy, to horror and comedy. But you also caught a variety of animation formats teased in that trailer, including traditional 2D to photo-real 3D CGI. The full list of shorts will cover a variety of adult topics including racism, government, war, free will, and human nature, whittled down from hundreds of authors and stories, many of which were discovered by Miller decades ago. Each 5 to 15-minute-long segment was created by different teams of filmmakers from around the world, including animators from Hungary, France, Canada, and Korea among others.

Here’s what Miller had to say in a previous press release:

Love, Death & Robots is my dream project, it combines my love of animation and amazing stories. Midnight movies, comics, books and magazines of fantastic fiction have inspired me for decades, but they were relegated to the fringe culture of geeks and nerds of which I was a part. I’m so fucking excited that the creative landscape has finally changed enough for adult-themed animation to become part of a larger cultural conversation.”
