CBS Films and Lionsgate have released the first trailer for the Christmas family comedy Love the Coopers. Directed by I Am Sam and Corrina, Corrina helmer Jesse Nelson, this is a fairly standard family holiday film in which the heads of the family decide they want everyone together under one roof for Christmas. Of course, this being Christmas and all, everything goes to hell pretty quickly, and assembling the family is easier said than done.

This looks to be a bit of a cross between The Family Stone and New Year’s Eve, with a truly stacked ensemble cast mostly playing their scenes out in separate vingettes rather than all together like Christmas Vacation. Regardless, the cast—which includes Diane Keaton, John Goodman, Olivia Wilde, Ed Helms, Amanda Seyfried, Marisa Tomei, Alan Arkin, Jake Lacy, Anthony Mackie, and Steve Martin as the narrator for some reason—is truly solid, so there’s a bit of promise here.

Check out the first trailer below, via Yahoo!. Love the Coopers opens in theaters on November 13th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Love the Coopers:

LOVE THE COOPERS follows the Cooper clan as four generations of extended family come together for their annual Christmas Eve celebration. As the evening unfolds, a series of unexpected visitors and unlikely events turn to night upside down, leading them all toward a surprising rediscovery of family bonds and the spirit of the holiday.
