Limited Paper: Ltd Art Gallery’s MINT CONDITION 2 Includes Superhero-Themed Work by Sam Ho, Bruce Yan, Ian Glaubinger, Tim Anderson and Many More

     February 27, 2013

Got an interesting installment of Limited Paper for you today, folks.  This Friday, Ltd Art Gallery (located in Seattle, WA, don’tcha know) opens its doors on Mint Condition 2, another superhero-themed showcase featuring new artwork from a bunch of artists that we’ve covered many times in the past here at Limited Paper:  Bruce Yan, Ian Glaubinger, Tim Anderson, Sam Ho (the show also includes an original piece by some n00b named Scott Wampler, but we’ll get to that in a minute).  Wanna see some exclusive images from the show and find out when you’ll be able to pick up a ton of new prints featuring your favorite superheroes?  Meet me after the jump, folks.

This Friday, Ltd Art Gallery in Seattle, WA kicks off its latest showcase, Mint Condition 2.  As the name suggests, this is the second installment of a preview show held by the Ltd Art Gallery guys.  The first Mint Condition brought together a slew of new prints, OGs, and the like which featured everyone’s favorite superheroes.  Mint Condition 2 follows that trend, while also introducing a few superheroes and villains that…well, they didn’t make the cut during the first show (Barry Blankenship’s awesome Dick Tracy-themed piece, for instance).

And, finally, something a little different:  a preview pic of my piece from the show.  I’m going to be running a writeup about how this came together later in the week—it was quite the experience, lemme tell ya—but for now all ya really need to know is this: after being told the theme for the show, I pitched Ltd Art Gallery on a piece based on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, one that would treat that show’s “Dayman” and “Nightman” characters as if they were the hero and villain of a comic book.  This isn’t the whole piece, but you’ll more than get this gist of things:

  • The Nightman Returneth by Scott Wampler
  • 16×22” ink, pencil, and marker OG
  • Includes authentic “Louis XIV Jr.” custom frame

The show opens this Friday at Ltd Art Gallery’s Seattle location, and online sales—for anything that doesn’t sell during the show—will start up on Saturday morning/early afternoon.  Keep track of those details via our friends at the Ltd Art Gallery Twitter feed (@LtdArtGallery), and stay tuned for an exclusive giveaway featuring one of this show’s best prints (as well as a more in-depth report on what it was like submitting a piece to a gallery show…and the weirdness inherent in writing about it) later this week!
