It's with sadness today that we report Luke Perry has passed away at the age of 52. The actor, who is best known for his iconic role as Dylan McKay in the teen drama Beverly Hills, 90210, was also recently a star in The CW series Riverdale, where he played Archie's father Fred over three seasons. He will appear posthumously to close out this latest run of episodes.

Perry suffered a massive stroke on February 27th, with some hopes that he may recover. Unfortunately, after a hospitalization at St. Joseph’s in Burbank, California, he passed on March 4th. TMZ, who first reported the news, says "According to his rep, Luke was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiance Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends."

An official statement was later released by the actor's representative Arnold Robinson, saying: “The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time.”

The veteran performer, who has been a TV constant since he first appeared in several soap operas early in his career, was also a prolific voice actor, with credits that include The Incredible Hulk and Biker Mice From Mars. Perry will also appear posthumously as actor Wayne Mauder in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which is due in theaters July 26, 2019.

Perry has always been considered a kind and positive presence in Hollywood, staying away from the drama that followed other 90210 co-stars (who are currently part of a revival series, which Perry was supposed to have a recurring guest role on). He will be missed.
