Robert Rodriguez was set to deliver a one-two punch this fall with Machete Kills and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, but now both movies have been pushed back.  Sin City was knocked all the way to August 22, 2014, and now Machete Kills has received a significantly shorter date change.  Originally set for September 13th, Open Road Films will now release Machete Kills on October 4th against Alfonso Cuaron's sci-fi drama, Gravity.  Open Road has also decided to move the action film Homefront from October 4th to November 27th.  Written by Sylvester Stallone, Homefront stars Jason Statham as an ex-DEA agent who moves his family to a small town in hopes of a quieter life.  Instead, he runs afoul of a meth-pushing kingpin by the name of Gator (James Franco).  Homefront will share the weekend with Kasi Lemmons' Black Nativity and Disney's animated film, Frozen.

In other release date news, Universal has scheduled Joe Carnahan's comic thriller Stretch for March 21, 2014.  Patrick Wilson stars as a down-on-his-luck chauffeur looking to relieve his debt by driving around a mysterious billionaire who drags him to hell and back.  The film also stars Chris Pine, Ed Helms, and Brooklyn Decker.  The movie will have serious competition that weekend against Muppets Most Wanted and Divergent.
