I am incredibly excited for director George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road. Everything I hear about the film or see from it only makes May seem that much further away, and the recent comments from composer Junkie XL gleaned in Steve’s exclusive interview confirm that this movie is indeed nuts. Namely, the composer told us that when he first flew down to Australia, he watched a 3 hour cut of the film that had no beginning or no ending. If there was that much raw footage of what is literally an entire movie made up of one chase sequence, think about how insane the feature-length cut will be.

Anyway, Total Film has debuted some new Mad Max: Fury Road images, and they’re great. We see Tom Hardy’s Max wearing his Hannibal Lecter mask and dog collar, as well as Max having a gentle throwdown with another post-apocalyptic madman. How anyone can look at these images and say, “Eh, looks boring” is beyond me.

Check out the new Mad Max: Fury Road images below. The film also stars Nicholas HoultRiley KeoughZoe Kravitz, Courtney EatonRosie Huntington-WhiteleyHugh Keays-ByrneNathan Jones, and Abbey Lee Kershaw.  Mad Max: Fury Road opens on May 15th in 2D and 3D.

Here’s the official synopsis for Mad Max: Fury Road:

Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone.  Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa.  They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken.  Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
