MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Set Photos [Updated with More Images]

     July 4, 2012

We’ve got some early set photos from George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road to share with you today.  From on location in Africa, they feature model/star Abbey Lee Kershaw and some suped-up vehicles that continue the signature look of the Mad Max franchise.  It’s hard to believe that it’s been 27 years since the last Mad Max movie came out, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome starring Mel Gibson. The fourth installment features new additions Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Zoe Kravitz. Hit the jump to check out the first set photos from Mad Max: Fury Road.

[Update: A few more set photos have surfaced, including one of Huntington-Whiteley, Kravtiz, and a few other cast members.  They're included after the jump.]

Let’s hope Miller channels Bronson through Hardy’s interpretation of Max Rockatansky, yeah!!!

Mel was cast as Max when this movie was originally slated to film 15 years ago, but the dude is simply too old and unstable to be starring in a big budget action sequel to Thunderdome now. George Miller has a perfect track record though (I don’t count Thunderdome as a Miller Mad Max film because his son died during filming and his involvement was limited – the 2nd unit director took over), so I’ll trust him. Also, Tom Hardy is a VERY good actor.

But Mel is better, simple as that.

When the Hell will this Finally have a release date?!

Casting models for a movie? BAD SIGN! They are NOT actresses.
Zoe Kravitz is very bad too, she don’t know how to act.

Charlize? please! this overrated actress is a shame! her “acting” in Prometheus was one of the worst things in the movie, she is very bad in everything actually, she is just another model who make movies (yes, I saw her other movies, she was bad in all of them).

George Miller doesn’t make a good movie in a long time, he’s practically dead in the movie business.

    This movie will sucks.

      Drugs are bad, okay?

I agree with you that most models don’t make an impressive transition into acting but if they’re going to be used in small roles that don’t require much talent, then I’m not against it. And they’re certainly not going to be the leads in the new Mad Max films.

Charlize Theron overrated? Lol, hardly. I would say she is underrated in comparison to “actresses” like Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway (I can go on but it’s not even worth it). She was the best actress in Prometheus, in my honest opinion. She nailed the character and just because there was too much editing going on in that film, it doesn’t make her a bad actress. Another model who makes movies? Lulz, she wasn’t ever a serious model. She did some print ads for magazines as a teenager. And that’s about it.

Oh, and Charlize is bad in all of her films? It sounds to me like you haven’t seen Monster, North Country, The Burning Plain, The Road, Snow White and the Huntsman, Young Adult, In the Valley of Elah, The Life and Death of Peter Sellers, The Cider House Rules, The Yards, The Devil’s Advocate. And even in the films that weren’t so great, she commits to her roles 100%. She’s one of the few actresses who is a chameleon and flawlessly jumps from one role to another. She takes on challenging roles and I never see Charlize Theron playing herself when I watch a film.

George Miller didn’t direct a great project in a long time because there was a 9 year gap between 40,000 Years of Dreaming and Happy Feet. Most of his work is really solid.

Sounds to me like you just don’t like them anyway and want to look for a laughable excuse why. Learn to write properly and learn to form proper arguments.

Jason, I agree with you 100%

It’s not about who plays Max it’s about how they play Max. I have no doubt Tom will pull this off just as well as Mel. I only hope they make it with the same rawness and practicality they did with the others. Also the interceptor needs to come back. And they need a sweet ass voice over like at the beginning of The Road Warrior.

I see why some people might think that hiring models for a movie would cause it to be a disaster, but i love the idea of this movie ( from the little bit about it I know) Abbey Lee Kershaw is one of my favorit models and shes in it. Some one posted some pictures I guess of her with pink hair that suppose to be from the movie and I must say its making this movie really look amazing to me. I’m def gunna get some friends and see it when it hits theatures!
