Due to her ongoing legal troubles, Lindsay Lohan has been replaced by Malin Akerman (Watchmen) in Matthew Wilder’s Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story. The director broke the news on his Facebook page [via TheWrap]. Deadline adds that the problem with Lohan was that “she’s impossible to insure and the producers loved Malin.” Lohan may have cost herself the role in mid-September when she failed a post-jail drug test. For those who don’t know, Inferno centers on porn star Linda Lovelace. Lovelace achieved notoriety for her performance in the successful hardcore porn film Deep Throat. Per Wikipedia, Lovelace (real name Linda Susan Boreman) “later denounced her pornography career, claimed that she had been forced into it by her sadistic first husband, and for a while became a spokeswoman for the anti-pornography movement.”
TheWrap notes that “Akerman may not sell as many tickets as Lohan”, as if Lohan still got people to come to the theater. The box office receipts for I Know Who Killed Me would beg to differ. Hit the jump for more on Akerman’s busy schedule.
Akerman has been making rounds on the festival circuit this year, appearing in Josh Radnor’s comedy Happythankyoumoreplease, and the dramas The Romantics and The Bang Bang Club. She’ll next be seen in the indie crime flicks Criminal Empire for Dummys and Catch .44, as well as the David Wain comedy Wanderlust with Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston. She’s also attached to The Numbers Station with Ethan Hawke and the romantic comedy The Giant Mechanical Man with Jenna Fischer, Topher Grace, and Chris Messina.

Lohan is a B movie actress. Malin Akerman is an A movie actress. This is obviously a step up for the production.
When was the last time Lohan starred in a movie that made money in Movie Theaters, Mean Girls. That was a while ago.
That was also the last time Lohan starred in a movie that anybody liked. Akerman is a rising star, not one on an alcohol binge. She is also a far more talented actress; not that I am saying that Lohan doesn’t have acting chops, but her lifestyle is clearly hindering her ability to do a good job.
I wish Lohan would get her crap together and make a comeback, I liked her quite alot.
But seriously she’s uninsurable, which producer would want her star in a film when she’s in and out of jail, and drug addicted? Good investment it is not.
I love to fuck them both.. Nolan and Malin with now that movie sells!
She looks way better as a brunette in “Watchmen”. As a blonde (no doubt her natural hair color as she’s Swedish), she looks a little generic and the way she had her hair styled during the press junkets left too much forehead exposed. But in the movie she looks absolutely gorgeous.

Sure she’s a better choice than Lohan at this point (a greasy Big Mac wrapper would be a better choice than Lohan) but do any of you actually remember her in Watchmen (or anything else she’s been in)? She looks good, but her performance was god-awful.
Actually that was intentional. Her character is supposed to be ‘dull’ and not in control of her life even though she’s the protagonist. That’s why she’s always flat. It’s another aspect of the novel’s deconstruction of the superhero. She only ever comes alive in brief periods of danger and inflicting violence on people.

Hardcore porn actress? Something tells me this role will likely involve nudity (no duh, right?). If any of you have seen MACHETE, you know Lohan will only appear nude with her hair covering her chest. Akerman has no issue with nudity and is a rising star. Even more reason to drop Lohan.

Looks wise… megan fox. Malin killed silk spectre, even though i never really liked her in the comic. But ever since the movie i cant look at her the same.
