Man of Steel 2 in Active Development

First we got a peek at the new Superman on the small screen in the CW series Supergirl and now, it’s the news we’ve all been waiting five years to hear – the WB and DC are actively moving forward with Man of Steel 2! Now that we’ve dealt with the death of Superman and his eventual resurrection in Justice League, the official sequel will put Superman back in his own world.... but who will he be up against? Metallo? Parasite? Luthor? Brainiac? The panel dig deep speculating what we will see in the Man of Steel follow-up.

New Details Emerge for X-Men TV Series

It looks like Matt Nix’s X-Men TV series is moving forward, with Marvel TV head honcho Jeph Loeb stating "As an X-Men fan, and ultimately, what Matt brings to it is that the X-Men are always stories about family. That's where they start, that's where they live." Fox CEO Dana Walden added “There will be some iconic characters but mostly this is about a new family." The panel looks at these small details and wonder what kind of series we will get that can remain faithful to the comic books and movies.

Suicide Squad Smashes Box Office Records

The Suicide Squad has smashed box office records, pulling in $135 million for its American weekend debut! With many, many critics not taking to the squad, and a very large divide between the mainly negative “Rotten Tomatoes” reviews and the audiences totally eating the squad up with positive exit polls, the panel now wonder what it might mean for a sequel as well as what next week might look like at the box office.

First Full-Length Trailer Released for Luke Cage

The full length trailer for Luke Cage has arrived, and this series looks amazing. We’ve got his origin with a tasty cameo callback to his original outfit design; we’ve got Cottonmouth and gangs battling in Harlem; we’ve got the Rosario Dawson connective thread for all the Netflix marvel shows, and in the middle of it all is Mike Colter’s Luke Cage! The panel look at the new trailer and discuss every aspect of Netflix and Marvel's new series.

  • Flashpoint merges Supergirl into the CW Universe!
  • Sarah Grey is Star Girl in Legends of Tomorrow!
  • Miles Teller says he’d return to Fantastic Four 2
  • Mark Ruffalo as Hulk on Asgard
  • Prototype versions of Killer Croc, Solomon Grundy, Harley Quinn on Gotham Season 3

Flashback - Judge Dredd (1995)

Yes, the 90’s, and they were chock full of adaptations of comic book characters, with so many getting it wrong. Dead wrong. Sylvester Stallone was part of this 90’s wave, with the Danny Cannon directed Judge Dredd featuring just a little too much Rob Schneider for many people's tastes. We had Armando Assante playing the villain, and some pretty cool Mega City 1 sequences, but this film falls apart in the third act; with a weak fight on top of the statue of liberty, and Stallone repeatedly taking off the helmet. Judge Dredd never really got into showcasing the extreme violent, satiric flavor of the 2000 AD comic series, for that we had to wait for 2012's Dredd.

Spotlight: Magnus Robot Fighter

This week’s Spotlight is Magnus Robot Fighter, an action packed science fiction superhero comic series, created by writer artist Russ Manning, which took place in the year 4000, featuring the human Magnus battling a never ending line of rogue robots. In this future world, man and robots live together, and humans have become overly dependent on using the machines. Magnus was raised by an AI robot who followed the 3 laws of robotics, and trained Magnus to be able to smash steel with his bare hands. We’ve seen so many popular movies and series like The Matrix or I, Robot borrow from this comic book; and the panel believe that this series, especially now with our incredible computer graphics capabilities, could be pulled off as an action packed movie or an exciting streaming series.
