WonderCon 2013 is in full swing, and Steve and Dave are currently in Anaheim covering all the convention goodness here on Collider for those that are unable to make the trek.  Steve walked the floor earlier today and managed to snap images of some of the cool things he spotted, which includes some great looks at the Man of Steel action figures.  While we’ve seen images of these figures before, Steve’s photos give us a close-up, detailed look at a number of characters from one of the year’s biggest movies.

Hit the jump to take a look at the DC Collectible action figures for Superman (Henry Cavill), General Zod (Michael Shannon), Jor-El (Russell Crowe), and Faora (Antje Traue).  Man of Steel opens in 3D on June 14th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Man of Steel:

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Based of the Action Figures this movie is really shite. Nolan’s lost his edge entirely.

@Wow How can you tell a movie is shit based on costumes?

    • Dancing Llama

Yes, I completely agree, this movie is going to be absolute garbage because the action figures don’t cut it for you /sarcasm. BTW moron, Nolan had nothing to do with the figures or the movie other than producing.

      • Nerdgasm

Correction. Nolan, His Brother and Goyer all wrote and collaborated on the script. Further more all Snyder was hired to do was direct the focus of the film. The Nolan camp already had the suits and costumes ready before Snyder came onto the pick. Being as several actors were suited and being talked to before Snyder came on board.

“Correction. Nolan, His Brother and Goyer all wrote and collaborated on the script.” Err, Goyer and Nolan worked on the story treatment, whilst Goyer wrote the script. Jonathan Nolan didn’t write the script at all. Just because you’re a nerd, doesn’t mean you have to be a cliché of an idiot fanboy who doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

“Being as several actors were suited and being talked to before Snyder came on board.” You know, fanboys screaming that Billy Zane MUST BE CAST isn’t actually the same as an actor being cast. It isn’t anything, to be frank. Everything you’ve written cannot be proven BECAUSE IT IS BULLSHIT.

If you’ve got a problem with Nolan, then create an argument based on the facts. Since this is TOO DIFFICULT FOR YOU, please don’t waste everyone else’s time by writing something that’s OBVIOUSLY BULLSHIT that we have to correct for you. We’re not your parents, it’s not our job to wipe the snot from your mouth so please don’t put us in a position where we have to.

Guns. Why do Kryptonians need guns? I have seen these or other figures before, and they all had weapons. Maybe just on Krypton and not on Earth?

  • Nasty.

It looks like they were painted by half starved chinese children who were paid 3.00$ a day.
Tons of detail in the suit, yet none in the hair or face. Outstanding garbage!
