Note: Spoilers are discussed during this interview. You probably don’t want to watch this unless you’ve seen ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’.

If you follow me on social media, you know that I recently went to Ireland with a number of other reporters to interview Mark Hamill for the Star Wars: The Last Jedi Blu-ray release. While that would have been enough to get me on the plane, that was just the beginning of the trip, because the day after talking to Hamill we all left Dublin and traveled around the beautiful country to visit some of the amazing locations where Rian Johnson filmed Episode VIII. As a life-long Star Wars fan, getting to see some of the locations where they filmed the latest sequel was something I’ll never forget, and over the next week, you can expect a lot more coverage from my visit.

But let me jump backwards.

As I said last week when I posted part of my interview with Hamill from Ireland, one of the problems with talking to him is he’s literally been asked every possible question about the making of The Last Jedi and Star Wars in general. So when I went to interview him, I tried to ask a few things he hasn’t talked about.

With Han Solo (Harrison Ford) being a big part of Episode 7, and Luke Skywalker (Hamill) being the focus of Episode 8, many assumed Episode 9 would see an increased role for Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) and it would be a great way for each of the original stars to shine in the new trilogy. However, with Fisher having sadly passed away in late 2016, it presents a challenge to Disney and the filmmakers making Episode 9. Do they write Leia out of the next installment? Or could they do as some fans have suggested and recast the character to give Leia a proper sendoff? No matter what Disney and Lucasfilm decide, we all know it’s not the original plan and all of us will miss seeing Carrie Fisher on screen.

With some fans talking about recasting Leia, I decided to ask Hamill about it. In addition, I asked his thoughts on Luke being a Force ghost in Episode 9, the amazing Twitter back and forth with James Gunn about possibly being in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and he also talks about how the Trumpster came about on Twitter.

Check out what he had to say in the video above and if you missed the video where he shared his thoughts on the best viewing order of the Star Wars films (do you start with the prequels or the way they were originally released) you can watch it here. You can also watch Hamill go deep on Star Wars, The Last Jedi, and voicing the Joker here.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is now available on Blu-ray.
