It is that time again and the San Diego Comic-Con is upon us.  The anticipation of Mondo’s involvement this year has been brewing for months.  Concerns about whether or not they would be in attendance was recently put to rest, which opened the door to speculation about what artists and properties would be represented.  Well, after two Comic-Cons of anticipation, the wait is finally over.  Martin Ansin’s Conan the Barbarian print will finally be unleashed!  Check out all the info and another Ansin surprise after the jump.

Two years ago Mondo teased an Ansin Conan print with a sticker that was given away at their booth.  Since then a lot has changed but the desire to see Ansin tackle that property has not wavered.  Now this print will finally be released though perhaps not in the manner one may expect.

Instead of having the prints available for sale at their booth, they will be pre-selling them on Friday, July 12th, via their web-store.  However, you will have to be in attendance at SDCC to pick them up.  This means that if you are not going to SDCC and are not going to be available on Thursday the 17th to pick it up, DO NOT attempt to purchase.  The sale is non-transferable and non-refundable, which means if you do purchase one and you can’t go, you are just throwing your money away.  Here are the specific details on this print:

CONAN by Martin Ansin

Size: 24” x 36”

Edition: 450 Regular, 225 Variant

Price: $50 Regular, $75 Variant

Ansin’s style has evolved dramatically over the years, and if you were expecting a larger version of the sticker you will be surprised.  This is 100% more representative of his newer style rather than his older work.  If you are interested in the intricacies of his work, well then you are going to get the chance to ask him about it.  That’s right, all the way from Uruguay, the man himself will be there to sign his Conan Prints!

Along with Olly Moss and his Ghibli prints & Drew Struzan with his Dark Tower prints, Mondo has arranged for the artists to be available to sign their prints.  If you purchase a pre-order, the artists will be there at the time the print is made available for pickup.  So there you have it.  Mondo is bringing their A game with top tier artists, long awaited properties and a whole new sales system that makes it so you won’t have to waste away waiting in line at the their booth when you should be waiting in line somewhere else.

Check out Mondo’s blog and Twitter for all the pertinent information about SDCC and make sure you will be available on the dates listed there if you are planning on purchasing these prints.  Good luck and I will see you at Comic-Con!
