We’re a little less than two months away from the release of The Avengers, and the impending premiere is becoming quite apparent. Just yesterday we brought you a bevy of information on the all-star superhero movie from writer-director Joss Whedon, and now AMC Theaters has announced a movie marathon event set to take place the day before The Avengers hits theaters. “The Ultimate Marvel Marathon” will unfold in select AMC theaters across the country and will feature back-to-back-to-back showings of Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, and ultimately The Avengers.
The whole thing starts on May 3rd at 11:30am and runs all the way through the midnight showing of The Avengers. It’s quite an ambitious feat, and I’m not sure I’d be able to make it all the way through without feeling like a zombie during The Avengers, but I’m sure there’s plenty of you out there up for the task. It’d definitely be interesting to watch all the Marvel films in a row and spot how well the films do—or don’t—lead into one another (Bruce Banner’s been Ruffalo-ed!). Hit the jump to find out when advanced tickets go on sale.
The entire list of participating theaters will be announced on March 16th, at which time tickets for said Ultimate Marvel Marathon showings will be on sale. Limited engagement tickets for a select number of participating theaters will go on sale at 12:01am (PST) Sunday night (3/11) / Monday morning (3/12) for the following theaters:
Boston Common 19 Boston, MA
Burbank 16 Burbank, CA
Downtown Disney 12 Anaheim, CA
Aventura 24 Aventura, FL
Empire 25 New York, NY
Garden State 16 Paramus, NJ
Downtown Disney 24 Lake Buena Vista, FL
Metreon 16 San Francisco, CA
Alderwood 16 Lynnwood, WA
Tysons Corner 16 McLean, VA
Head over to AMC Theaters for more information, and prepare yourself accordingly for a night full of Marvel geekery and fun.
Already did the AMC Best Picture Showcase which lasted 24 hours…this should be a piece of cake
I’m surprised Marvel would want THE INCREDIBLE HULK included at all. I wouldn’t have been surprised at all to see them leave that movie on the shelf forever out of pure spite. Seriously, how many dicks did Ed Norton step on to make Marvel throw him under the bus? I only wish THE INCREDIBLE HULK had been a hit, then nobody would’ve held a grudge and we’d have Norton teeing off on THE AVENGERS.
