With the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase Two Blu-ray box set being released December 8th on Amazon, Marvel sent over a copy earlier today so I could check it out. While I’m on the east coast right now without a Blu-ray player so I can’t yet watch the extras, I figured all Marvel fans would want to see how the set looks unboxed. Like the Phase 1 box set, Marvel looks to have filled this set with a ton of cool extras, and I especially appreciate the digital download codes and 3D copies of the movies. In addition to what I just mentioned, I also really dig Matt Ferguson’s individual artwork for all the movies and how the Morag orb (aka the Infinity Stone from Guardians of the Galaxy) lights up.
If you didn’t know, the set includes all of Marvel’s Phase 2 movies (Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Solider,Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Ant-Man) on Blu-ray, a bonus disc filled with exclusive content, cool Marvel Studios memorabilia like a gold-foiled page from the book of the Dark Elves, an ancient drawing from the Morag vault, Avengers and S.T.R.I.K.E. uniform patches, a replica of the Tony Stark tattoo from Iron Man 3, and more. Some of the two and a half hours of content on an exclusive bonus disc includes never-before-seen deleted and extended scenes, the complete set of Marvel One-Shot films and commentary, From Here to Infinity: Phases 2 and 3 of the M.C.U., Tag Scenes: A Making-Of, screen tests with Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista, and more. What I’m trying to say is the set is loaded. If you’re a Marvel fan this is something you will love to own.
Since it’s not going to ship for another two weeks, I snapped pictures of everything inside the box set. Check out about 40 pictures below and let me know what you think in the comment section.
