Marvel has pushed their untitled film from May 16, 2014 for August 1, 2014. Last week we reported that it’s looking like the untitled picture will be Guardians of the Galaxy. However, the studio has other projects in the pipeline including Black Panther and Ant-Man (co-writer and director Edgar Wright recently turned in a test reel for the latter). If the studio has vacated May, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an announcement down the line that Captain America 2 has been pushed back from April 4, 2014. Marvel loves owning the first weekend in May, and no matter how badly studios want April to be the summer, the season will always start in May.
There are currently no other films scheduled to open on August 1, 2014.
