I’ve been keeping a movie journal for years now, but a few years ago, a great new site called Letterboxd came on the scene, and it allowed for a more organized way to create an online journal of your viewing habits. I think it’s a must for any film fan, and a great way to keep tabs on what you watch and to see what other people are watching.

Additionally, keeping a movie journal made me want to put together a collage of every single film I saw. Since Letterboxd was keeping a record, all I had to do was pull an image from the movie, create a collage in my favorite image editor, and a few hours later, I had a pretty decent way of seeing my entire year in cinema.

Overall, I’m pretty pleased with it. As always, I wish I saw more movies (I had 282 screenings but I’m not sure how many separate films I saw because some films I saw more than once; I estimate I saw about 270 separate films this year), and this year in particular, I came up short when it came to seeing older pictures and foreign flicks. Nevertheless, I feel pretty glad I saw all of these movies, and I hope that I tackle even more in the year to come (as I mentioned in my Top 10 list, I hope to finally see every single Spielberg and Scorsese film).

You can check out the full collage below, and please feel free to follow me on Letterboxd. Adam is also on Letterboxd, and you can click here to follow him.
