Matt Damon may make his directorial debut with the much sought after Matthew Aldrich penned script, Father Daughter Time: A Tale of Armed Robbery and Eskimo Kisses. Deadline reports that various studios including Paramount and Fox were trying to get their hands on the script, with Warner Bros coming out on top with the winning bid. There isnât much known about the film except that the story is about âa man who goes on the lam with his daughter, his accomplice on a three-state crime spree.â  Aldrich describes the film as ânot high concept, it's a smallish, very personal, dark but playful road movie about a father and daughter." For my thoughts on the project and what else Damon is involved in, hit the jump.Matt Damon has spent the last few years working with some of the best filmmakers out there and it's clear that he doesnât sign on to something unless if he thinks it's special. It'll be interesting to see how Damonâs directing style will turn out given that he has worked with everyone from Clint Eastwood to the Coen Brothers to Paul Greengrass in just the past few years. Will he go for a traditional style or will he go for slightly more slick and stylish direction? While it's fun to wonder, it'll probably be at least a few years at leastbefore we get to see Damonâs directorial debut on the big screen. Much like some of the directors that he works with, Damon seems to be quite prolific and is always signing on to new projects.Matt Damon can next be seen in Steven Soderberghâs Contagion this fall and in Cameron Croweâs We Bought a Zoo in December.  He is also attached to star in Neill Blompkampâs Elysium and in Steven Soderberghâs Liberace. Finally, if you want to see a fun interview with Damon, here's the one Steve did with him for The Adjustment Bureau. Damon tells a great story about The Godfather.
