Matt Reeves' Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is one of my favorite films of the year, and I can't wait to see how he handles the follow-up.  But it won't all be talking primates for the director.  According to THR, he's signed on to helm an untitled bank heist thriller based on a pitch from Matt Charman.  There are no details about the plot, but it's described as being "in the vein of Heat and Dog Day Afternoon," which is in no way helpful a helpful description.  You just named two of the most popular bank heist movies of all time.  Yes, one would hope it would be in the vein of classic heist films.  When it comes veins, they picked a good one.

Charman's most recent credit is penning the script for Steven Spielberg's upcoming Cold War drama starring Tom Hanks.  THR adds that Reeves will do the heist thriller after he finishes the untitled Apes sequel, which is due out on July 29, 2016.  Click here for what he had to say to Steve about the film.
