Matthew McConaughey Confirmed to Lead Christopher Nolan’s INTERSTELLAR

     April 3, 2013

Last week, we reported that Matthew McConaughey was circling Christopher Nolan‘s upcoming sci-fi film, Interstellar.  Nothing is known about the film other than it’s “a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding.”  Today, the Star Tribune (via CHUD) reports that McConaughey told them, “I’m confirming.”  He wouldn’t say anything beyond that, and I’m sure all of the actors who sign on will have the super-strict NDAs that come with joining a Nolan project.

McConaughey has entered a new phase in his career where he’s taking challenging and interesting roles, and I’m excited to see what he’ll bring to the project.  The actor is currently filming the HBO anthology drama series True Detective with Woody Harrelson, and recently wrapped shooting on the AIDS drama, The Dallas Buyers Club.  He’ll next be seen in theaters turning in another great performance in Jeff NicholsMudInterstellar opens on November 7, 2014.  Filming is set to begin this summer.

Great news, he’s been on a great streak and it’s looking only to continue. Have a feeling this might be Nolan’s and his award movie, at least nominations. Just a feeling/guess you know.

A yummy choice of leading man from a yummy looking director. Nolan’s so dapper in his smart-looking scarf.

Griz! You’ve finally worked out your issues. Good for you. P.S. Nolan is a worse director than michael bay and this is sure to be a shite film.

        You’re retarded as fuck.

Hey, does this spaceship go faster than light?
It’d be a lot cooler if it did…

I am really excited for this movie now! Can’t wait to see the cast Nolan puts together for this film. And I love that it’s only a year and a half away!

  • What everyone’s thinking

Interesting to see how he’ll take his shirt off in space.

I just thought ,since this article made no mention of matt damon, he would be worried so…. no worries matt I got your back.

@ Nolan is a fraud, dark knight rises came out a year ago… need serious psychiatric help. no joke

Nah, I reserve the right to bitch. Still a few months away from a year. Then I’ll stop. It was one of the biggest hype jobs in history and I want to make sure the lies that it’s a competent film does not continue. Also, I would argue that the man-children who allow obvious trolling about a shallow comic book movie to get them worked up into a frenzy (a.k.a yourself) are the ones in need of counselling. And when this movie is a catastrophe and, mark my words, it will be (Man of Steel will be his first inarguable failure) than I’m going to cream throwing it back in the face of the mindless fanboys who gave Nolan such unwarranted praise. Plus its a whole lot of fun getting to people like you. HAHHAAHHAHAHAAHHA

“Still a few months away from a year. Then I’ll stop.” Because a WHOLE YEAR OF CRYING would be ridiculous, right? Got it …

Christopher Nolan always has cast great actors for his movies, so I won’t criticize him over MM. I just gonna wait until Interstellar will be release.
